29th Oct ’22 Cape Breeders Report:

Varsfontein Stud’s homebred stallion Master Of My Fate has already enjoyed a fine run of success in 2022-2023 thus far, and the son of Jet Master’s season got better still when his son Han Solo captured Friday’s Listed TAB4Racing Algoa Cup (2000m) in convincing style.

Demoted to second after finishing first past the post in the Listed Hollywoodbets Settlers Trophy last time out, the Glen Kotzen trained Han Solo made amends for that setback with a fluent display in Friday’s R350 000 contest.
Under a confident ride from Calvin Habib, the six-year-old gelded son of Master Of My Fate came from well off the pace and powered home down the inside of the track to win going away by three-parts of a length.

Sent off a well backed tote favourite for Friday’s Algoa Cup, the Judy Wintle bred Han Solo has now won five of 19 starts with the previously luckless Han Solo finishing second in all of his four starts prior to the Algoa Cup.

Out of the Model Man mare I’m Too Sexy, Han Solo is closely inbred to Elliodor -the broodmare sire of Master Of My Fate.
Han Solo is the 18th stakes winner for Master Of My Fate, whose other notable recent winners include Sea Master (Michaelmas Handicap) and Broadway Girl (Beach Beauty Mile).

The inform Master Of My Fate struck yet again when his classy daughter Echo Of Life made it three wins in a row when victorious at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Sunday.
Currently heading South Africa’s General Sires List, Master Of My Fate has ten lots on offer at this year’s November Two Year Old Sale.
