Varsfontein Stud’s champion sire Gimmethegreenlight continues to churn out winners by the week, and the son of More Than Ready came up with two more winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday.
His three-year-old son Imperial Order duly justified tote favouritism when he ran out a comfortable winner of Wednesday’s Gold Circle Racing Youtube Channel Maiden Plate (1400m). Under Serino Moodley, the Michael Miller trained colt powered home in the closing stages to shed his maiden by nearly five lengths.
Bred by the Waterford Stud, Imperial Order had finished third on debut before taking fourth spot on his only previous outing.
Out of the Fort Wood mare Home Tree, Imperial Order is bred on the same Gimmethegreenlight/Fort Wood cross as graded stakes winners Gee For Go, Green Pepper, Hack Green and Second Base.
His sire’s second success on Wednesday came when the Gimmethegreenlight gelding Ralph The Rascal captured the eighth race, the Hollywoodbets Bright Future MR 88 Handicap (1400m).
A close up third last time out, the Alyson Wright trained Ralph The Rascal made no mistakes on Wednesday when the gelding got up close home to score by a short neck under Keagan De Melo.
Bred by Moutonshoek, Ralph The Rascal has now won four times and has a further 14 placings to his credit.
