23rd Sep ’22 Cape Breeders report:
Maine Chance Farms’ consistently successful resident sire Querari looks to have yet another bright sort to his name in the form of Mythical Dream.
The latter made it two wins from two starts when she won a good race at Turffontein on Thursday.
A smart winner, when scoring over 1000m on debut, the Johan Janse Van Vuuren trained Mythical Dream was sent off tote favourite for Thursday’s Next Turffontein Racemeeting Tuesday 27 September FM 70 Divided Handicap (1000m) and duly lived up to expectations.
Under Randall Simons, three-year-old Mythical Dream powered home down the outside of the Turffontein track to win going away by a length and a half.
The race was a fine result for Querari, with Mythical Dream beating her paternal half-sister Clean Living into second place.
Bred by Narrow Creek Stud, Mythical Dream is out of the Jet Master mare Lightning Bird.
The promising filly was a R130 000 buy from the 2021 National Yearling Sale.
Her sire Querari, South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs in both 2018-2019 and 2021-2022, has some very smart three-year-olds representing him this season, with other notable sophomores representing the son of Oasis Dream this season including the graded stakes winners Galla Vanting, Gobsmacked and Prophet as well as such exciting sorts as At My Command and Quantum Theory.
